Energise Employ 5 Inter County GAA stars in Industry First "Brand Ambassador" Campaign

5th July 2006

In a bid to grow market share and promote the association between the leading Irish sports drink and gaelic games players nationwide, Energise have employed five of Ireland's top GAA stars as brand ambassadors.

An industry first, the campaign will see Dublin's Bryan Cullen, Paul McCormack from Armagh, David Collins from Galway, Jason Ryan from Waterford and Cork's Brendan Jer O'Sullivan personally promote the 100% Irish brand into GAA clubs, shops and licensed premises in key regions.

The three month initiative is designed to coincide directly with the GAA Championship season, when player profiles and sales of sports drinks typically peak.

Top of the ambassadors' agenda will be to successfully educate clubs and sales outlets that money from every bottle of Energise and Energise Sport sold goes directly to support the players and the Gaelic Players Association. The brand's "Irishness" is also viewed as a considerable asset: Number 2 in a highly competitive market, Energise is the only leading sports and energy brand that is 100% Irish owned and manufactured.

Speaking at the launch of this latest joint initiative, Energise Brand Manager, Enda Trautt said "Over the past number of years we have enjoyed a very close and successful relationship with the GPA. As an intrinsically Irish brand, Energise is delighted to support such a successful Irish organisation and we look forward to continuing to support the GPA over the coming years."

Welcoming the Energise Brand Ambassadors initiative, GPA Chief Executive Dessie Farrell said:

""Due to its direct link with the GPA and players, Energise has been a success since day one. This initiative is an industry first and as Energise Sport is the only sports drink that benefits the playing body directly, we would encourage all gaelic games supporters to choose Energise as their number 1."
