Gaelic Players Association - Energise Fitness & Conditioning Seminars

Energise Sport in conjunction with the GPA are delighted to announce a series of 1 day Fitness & Conditioning seminars specifically for Gaelic Games coaches from Minor through Senior grades.
Conducted by a team of fitness experts led by leading Exercise Physiologist Dr. Liam Hennessy, The Energise Sport Seminars are highly informative and will address:
- 1. the demands of hurling and football;
- 2. the needs of the player;
- 3. injuries and risk reduction;
- 4. functional assessment of the player;
- 5. the role of strength training;
- 6. nutrition and planning the programme.
These sessions will also include a hands on demonstration of specific strength and power training exercises and drills that are essential for the coach who wishes to keep up to speed with state of the art training methods.
The Energise Sport Fitness & Conditioning Seminars are aimed at coaches and training staff at all levels from Minor through Senior grades and will be rolled out nationwide, commencing at Queen’s University, Belfast on the 21st of October, moving to University College, Dublin on the 4th of November before hitting the Cork Institute of Technology on November 18th and NUI Galway on the 2nd of December.

Through this series of world-class seminars the GPA’s objective is to introduced GAA specific fitness and conditioning expertise to coaches at grass roots level for the first time.
