Energise Sport says Camán Camogie All Stars

Energise Sport is new title sponsor of the 2007 Camogie All Star Awards

24th October 2007

Energise Sport has announced its title sponsorship of the 2007 Camogie All Star Awards, which takes place in Citywest on 10th November, 2007 and is commended as the biggest Awards ceremony that rewards some of the 100,000 females playing camogie in Ireland.

It is the first time, since the Awards started in 2004, that a headline sponsor has been appointed and with its relationships firmly placed in the world of Gaelic games, Christine Keohane, Senior Brand Manager, Energise Sport, said Energise Sport is a natural fit for the Camogie All Star Awards.

"We are delighted to team up with the Camogie All Star Awards as the sponsorship further deepens the brands role in the world of Gaelic games, given our existing relationship with the Gaelic Players Association (GPA). Energise Sport is the only sports drink 100% produced in Ireland so it is important for the brand to be associated with the best of all things Irish and I believe this Awards ceremony is the most prominent date in the diary for the camogie players.

Energise Sport has long supported the Gaelic games with monies from every bottle of Energise Sport sold going back to the GPA and the players, but the brand is supporting Gaelic games at all levels and this year became the official partner of Setanta College, the sports college providing Sports, Fitness and Coaching studies online.

Liz Howard, President of the Camogie Association, echoed Christine's sentiments and said; "Energise Sport is a brand with which we are delighted to be associated having a relationship firmly planted with the GPA, but with a reputation that matches our own in terms national standing. All involved with the Camogie All Star Awards are looking forward to a long-standing and mutually beneficial relationship as we embark on a first and new sponsorship with a great brand in our headline".

The profile of Camogie in the media has increased dramatically over the last two years and the Camogie Association now has in place professional structures to promote and develop the game across the country.
